Letter to the Editor: Representing Marco Island in Congress

I am writing to offer additional information for your consideration on whom I believe to be our best choice to represent Marco Island in Congress. Representative Gary Aubuchon is clearly the best choice. He is the only candidate who has a proven and public record in business, the state legislature, and the community.

The work in Congress should not be about newspaper headlines and rhetoric, it should be about substance. As a state legislator Gary lowered taxes, worked to balance the state budget, and was a true vocal champion for Southwest Florida.

Washington, D.C., needs members of Congress who will work for solutions, and that takes the experience that only Gary Aubuchon possesses. I will vote for Gary Aubuchon and thank you for your consideration for Gary as well.

My vote for the people's house is another conservative currently a private citizen by the name of Byron Donalds. As originally conceived, the people's house was designed to be filled with citizens NOT necessarily citizens with public office holders moving up the political ladder.

If we are to challenge the political establishment be it left or right, liberal or conservative, we must begin by asking career politicians to return home, and allow new faces to bring to the house the experiences of the folks NOT the experience gained from serving in legislature. My understanding, the two year term was to encourage high turnover and keep the house fresh with ardent citizens.

I like conservatives, but I really like those conservatives seeking office from the perspective of one's daily tribulations NOT from legislative experience.

So I will place my vote for Byron Donalds. The time to vote is NOW!!!!!
