Two Golden Gate Estates men were arrested Thursday after Collier County sheriff's deputies said they reported a robbery that never happened.
Around 9:30 p.m., deputies were called to the Walgreens at 12955 Collier Blvd. Timothy Scott Lainhart, 29, and Clyde Clayton Steele, 66, said a tattooed man on a pink bicycle snatched a denim bag filled with Steele's prescription pills, according to an arrest report.
A deputy who reviewed security footage, however, was unable to find evidence of a robbery. Another corporal on the scene heard Lainhart tell Steele to "hurry up with this so we can get those new pills," a report said.
Investigators later found the denim bag inside Lainhart's car.
Lainhart, of the 400 block of 22nd Avenue Northeast, faces charges of making a false report, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Steele, who listed the same address as Lainhart, faces a charge of making a false report.
