A San Carlos Park teen injured in a hit-and-run Thursday has been upgraded to fair condition as of Sunday evening.
Keisha Bien-Aime, 16, remains at Tampa General Hospital after she was hit by a truck while walking to a bus stop near Sanibel Boulevard and Geranium Road.
Florida Highway Patrol investigators said 21-year-old Chelsie Dahlbeck was driving between 20 and 25 mph when she hit the South Fort Myers High School junior at about 6:05 a.m. Thursday. Troopers said Dahlbeck left the scene, turning herself in 12 hours after the crash.
Bien-Aime’s sister said Friday that the teen is recovering from a head injury, broken hip and back injury.
Charges are pending in the case.
