— One of Collier County's most popular fishing spots is getting a makeover today during an annual artificial reef cleanup at Santa Lucia Reef, just south of Gordon Pass.

Santa Lucia's prime location and abundance of fish species make it one of the county's most heavily fished reefs. However, in return, it collects a lot of debris.

Divers will clean the Gulf reef, getting rid of things like cast nets, fishing lines, and lures that can not only be an eyesore, but also dangerous.
