A 24-year-old East Naples woman is accused of kicking and swinging at nurses at a downtown hospital.
Kristen Lee Figueroa, of the 10 block of Cleveland Court, faces two counts of battery on an emergency medical care provider.
Upon admittance to NCH Downtown Naples Hospital on July 20, Figueroa kicked, cursed and swung at nurses, telling one she would find and harm her when she was released, according to an arrest report. One nurse's cheek was cut and bruised after their encounter, the report said.
Naples police arrested Figueroa after she was picked up in Lee County on a probation violation. Authorities extradited her back to Collier County on Monday.
The 24-year-old told police she was at the hospital receiving treatment after being beaten by her boyfriend, although no record of the incident was found filed with police or the Sheriff's Office. She also said she had been given a pain pill that might have influenced her reaction at the hospital.
As of Tuesday, Figueroa remained at the Naples Jail Center awaiting bond to be set.
