'Daily NewsMakers with Jeff Lytle' ... Trey Radel, U.S. House District 19

Two of the big winners from Tuesday’s Republican primary and a new, local link to the Mayo Clinic are featured on this week’s Naples Daily NewsMakers with Jeff Lytle program airing Sunday morning at 10 on ABC7.

Trey Radel, who swept a crowded U.S. House District 19 field, and Tim Nance, who beat 12-year incumbent Collier County Commissioner Jim Coletta, join Dr. Allen Weiss of NCH Healthcare System, who unveils local access to the Mayo Clinic’s medical expertise.

TREY RADEL

Lytle: Some of the work you’re going to Washington to do is not going to be pleasant. I mean crunchtime. To make some of those cuts, there’s going to be pain, and it’s not going to be pretty, but it has to be done.

Raydel. It has to be done. You know the biggest issue that I have in kind of today’s hyperpartisan climate is that, the second that you talk about securing the border, you’re a racist. The second you talk about saving — not cutting, but saving — Medicare and Social Security to protect the generation that protected us that has paid into it all of their lives ... you hate old people or young people.

Our problems are not about racism or hate. Our problems are numbers. And we need people who are willing to go to Washington, stand up and make the choices to get this country on a fiscally sound path.
