Two East Naples women are accused of kidnapping and beating another woman, restraining her with electrical tape and accusing her of stealing a friend's clothing, Collier County sheriff's deputies said.

Around 4:40 a.m. on Aug. 6, deputies were sent to the victim's home at 700 block of Wilson Boulevard North.

The 24-year-old woman said Elizabeth Amanda Ewell, 27, and Melissa Joanne Batsel, 25, took her to a home on the 900 block of Auto Ranch Road, where they slapped and punched her before throwing her on the bed and taping her hands and feet, an arrest report said.

The victim then was driven back to her home so the women could look for the clothing, according to the report. Her roommate threatened to call 911 and the women grabbed handfuls of the victim's clothing and ran to a vehicle waiting outside.

Deputies arrested Ewell and Batsel after finding them on the 3100 block of Cottage Grove on Wednesday. Ewell and Batsel, both of the 100 block of Osprey Landings Lane, each face charges of kidnapping, battery and petty theft.

As of Thursday, the women remained in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $22,500 each. Bond was withheld for Batsel on two counts of violating probation, according to court records.
