Lee County School Board members are expected to hear from parents concerned about bus stop safety during tonight's 6 p.m. meeting.
Many parents have contacted the district to voice unhappiness with its decision to stop driving into gated communities to pick up students. Students this year board their buses at stops outside the communities, near roadsides.
Jim Robinson, whose two children are picked up on Corkscrew Road at the entrance to Bella Terra, called the new stop "ridiculous."
"At least get them off the road," said Robinson, who planned to attend the meeting.
