Horse found slaughtered in South Florida

SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. — Authorities say a missing horse has been found slaughtered in southern Broward County.

The Broward Sheriff's Office reports the 8-year-old horse named Marco was reported missing Saturday morning from Perfect Landscaping.

On Saturday afternoon, workers found the horse's body about a half a mile away in Southwest Ranches.

Investigators believe the horse was stolen sometime between Friday and Saturday morning.

No further details were immediately available.
