An East Naples man and woman are accused of robbing two women by ripping their jewelry off, according to an arrest report.
The women told Collier County sheriff's deputies they were walking on Texas Avenue in the Naples Manor community on Tuesday when they were approached by a man and a woman who ripped their jewelry off, according to an arrest report.
The two women estimated their gold necklaces and bracelets were worth $3,300. Following the robbery, investigators searched for suspects with a K9 but couldn't find a track, reports said.
The next day, one of the victims saw the suspects and called for help. Deputies said the male suspect, identified as Angel D. Brooks, 22, was hit by a car on Caldwell Street as he tried to run away, but he was not seriously injured, according to an arrest report.
Brooks, of the first block of Cleveland Street, and Mirna Maldonado, 20, of the 3100 block of Connecticut Avenue, each face charges of robbery, grand theft and violation of probation. Brooks faces an additional charge of resisting an officer without violence.
