A woman who lives in the 3200 block of Fourth Avenue NE told deputies they heard gunshots coming from a canal east of her home shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday. After hearing the shots, the woman and another witness saw a four-door silver car drive past her house and saw the driver shoot a gun out the window, into the air.

The car parked in a driveway nearby. Deputies questioned Guzzo and later arrested him. Guzzo told sheriff's deputies he's out of jail on bond from a domestic battery charge two months ago in Lee County.

A 22-year-old man told deputies he was walking from his cousin's apartment to his home in the 300 block of North 18th Street early Saturday. When the man reached the front of his home, a man who was on a bicycle and was acting suspicious attacked him, choking him with what appeared to be a chain.

The victim said he lost consciousness and, when he regained it, found his wallet was removed from his pocket and $300 was missing. His girlfriend and her friend had observed the attack, and the friend recognized Vidaurri as the attacker, deputies said.
