Missing woman's body found in Florida pond

WINTER SPRINGS — Authorities say the body of an 89-year-old woman has been found in a retention pond in Winter Springs.

Margaret Langewisch was last seen leaving her Casselberry home during heavy rain caused by Tropical Storm Isaac about 11:30 a.m. Monday. Her family reported her missing when she didn't arrive to play bridge at a community center.

Winter Springs police say she apparently took a wrong turn and drove into the pond. Officer Bernie McPherson searched an area near the pond on Tuesday and saw tire tracks. A tow truck pulled the vehicle out Tuesday afternoon.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the pond is at the end of an access road to a park and the pond. The road is unpaved near the pond.

Authorities say Langewisch had been playing cards at the community center for 11 years.
