It's Your Business: 'Frauds and scams' workshop next month in Lee County

Detective Kevin Watkins and fraud expert Beth Schell will offer advice at a "Frauds and Scams" workshop Sept. 12.

The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants will host the event from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lee County Sheriff's Office, 14750 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers, as part of its Trusted Business Advisors Series. Zvibleman awarded elite real estate designation

Deborah Zvibleman, a real estate agent with John R. Wood Realtors, was awarded the esteemed Certified International Property Specialist designation.

She joins a worldwide network of elite global real estate agents with expertise in working with international clients and the growing multicultural U.S. population.

Attorney tapped for state leadership institute

Pavese Law Firm attorney Kathleen Oppenheimer Berkey, a land-use, zoning and local government attorney and certified land planner, has been selected to participate in Class III of Connect Florida's Statewide Leadership Institute.

Berkey is one of 37 professionals selected to the institute, a yearlong educational program of Connect Florida, a nonprofit organization created by Leadership Florida to assist young leaders in making a positive impact on Florida. Berkey, who joined the Fort Myers-based law firm in 2011, graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
