Driving extremely slowly on the interstate can be just as suspicious as going too fast, a Miami man found out Thursday.
Collier County sheriff’s deputies clocked a Dodge Ram at about 35 mph headed east on Interstate 75 just before 11 p.m., according to an arrest report.
Alejandro Saez-Garrido, 29, is now accused of stealing the pickup he was driving when deputies stopped him near mile maker 95 on Alligator Alley. No key was in the ignition but the vehicle was running, tipping off the officer that the vehicle may have been stolen, an arrest report noted.
The truck was reported stolen from a Palm Beach County landscaping company.
Saez-Garrido, who had an outstanding warrant from Miami-Dade County for grand theft auto, now faces the same charge in Collier County, in addition to a misdemeanor count of driving with an expired license.
