A nurse hired to assist a Naples couple was arrested Tuesday and accused of stealing more than $30,000 in jewelry from the pair.

The couple told police they noticed the jewelry and $900 in cash was missing after a move into a new home on the 100 block of Moorings Park Drive. The pieces included a $4,200 gold necklace, bracelets worth $10,800, a watch worth $9,000 and an emerald and diamond bracelet valued at $10,000, police reports said.

The couple made a list of the employees who had access to their home, and detectives investigated possible leads at local pawn shops. Investigators learned Amanda Sue Wright, 31, who was the couple's certified nursing assistant, pawned the jewelry on Nov. 19 and 20 for $3,900, reports said.

In interviews with police, Wright was apologetic and cooperative, according to reports. Wright, of the 1800 block of 52nd Street Southwest in Golden Gate, faces charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
