Letter to the Editor: Unsightly church paving

I was dismayed at the incredible sloppiness created by the contractors on all the public streets surrounding the church.

The contractors left horrible tar and asphault debris, especially on Giralda. I feel empathy for those homeowners who must see the awful sight right in front of their homes. Even driving around, vehicles are picking up tar and kicking debris under their vehicles. Will the contractor make a serious effort to clean the mess that they made? I doubt it.

Marco Island should go after these guys especially since we are concerned with beautification here.

Finally, in my personal opinion, the church looks like they went with the lowest bidder. My family was in the paving business for over 50 years. That job is sloppy and a mess. I am sure the church had limited funds but they got what they paid for I would guess.

I live several blocks away from that unsightly scene so I don’t need to see it. Only when I leave the area. Surrounding homeowners can’t be too pleased.
