NAPLES — A Hialeah man with eight fraudulent credit cards in his wallet was arrested Friday at Coastland Center mall, where he tried to buy nearly $950 worth of merchandise, Naples police said.
Rolando E. Iglesias, 25, faces 11 fraud and counterfeiting charges following his arrest Friday evening. Officers said Iglesias tried buying items at two stores before being arrested while shopping at a third.
Iglesias first tried to buy about $650 worth of goods from Lady Foot Locker, but his Visa card was declined, officers said. When a clerk called Visa representatives about the card, Iglesias quickly grabbed the card and walked out of the store, an arrest report said.
Iglesias then went to Piercing Padoga, where he tried to buy a gold chain and bracelet worth about $300 with a Walmart prepaid card, the report said. Officers said they caught up to Iglesias at an Express store, where he was preparing to buy more items. During a search of Iglesias, officers found four Walmart prepaid cards and four Visa cards, none of which were valid.
Iglesias posted $32,500 bond. He has been issued a trespass order at Coastland Center mall for three years.
