Men's Basketball: Gyrenes end 2012 on a good note

Gyrenes roll past Florida College

The Ave Maria University men's basketball team finished the 2012 portion of their schedule on a good note Saturday, winning 85-63 against the Florida College Falcons.

Matt Chattin led Ave Maria, scoring a game high 19 points. Senior forward Dylan Fugate had a double double, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Senior Tyler Cutrer and Sophomore Wendell Powell were the only other Gyrenes in double digit scoring with 12 and 10 points respectively.

The Gyrenes welcome Daemen College, Virginia University of Lynchburg, and Ohio Midwestern College to Ave Maria for the second annual USCAA Holiday Classic, held at the Golisano Field House. Game times are at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m on January 3rd through the 5th. AMU finished the first half of the season at 11-1 overall and 2-1 in The Sun Conference.
