The Plantation-American Heritage Patriots defeated the Riverview Rams 57-45 in game one of the Sunshine Series in the City of Palms Classic on Tuesday.
Riverview scored the first basket of the game, but American Heritage took control and never relinquished the lead.
Kobe Eubanks led the Patriots in scoring with 23 points. Fifteen of Eubanks points came in the first half. Drake LaMont retrieved 9 rebounds for the Patriots, which was a team high. LaMont finished the game with 11 points.
Nick Havener provided a strong presence under the net for the Rams, but he fouled-out of the game with two minutes remaining. Havener had a hot hand in the first half going 5-for-6 from the field, but tailed off only making 2-of-7 in the second half. Havener led Riverview in scoring with 15 points, and he provided 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 5 steals.
