A new IberiaBank branch opened Tuesday in Golden Gate.

The 4,700-square-foot branch, 5247 Golden Gate Parkway, will be managed by a team of veteran bankers including Maria Botana, vice president and branch manager; Leticia Lora, assistant manager; Ana Santos, relationship banker; and Ginal Dorgis, teller.

A native of Cuba, Botana has worked as a banker in the Naples community for more than 32 years and has lived in Southwest Florida since 1968. Members of the team at the Golden Gate branch are fluent in English, Spanish and Creole. Information: www.iberiabank.com

Naples hotel receives magazine award

The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club has received the Platinum Choice Award for 2012 from Smart Meetings magazine.

The award recognizes the best meeting hotels and resorts in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, as determined by votes by the magazine's readers. Winners were chosen based on everything from ambience to staff attitude and technical support. The 125-acre Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club was one of nine hotels and resorts in Florida to receive the award this year.

Kiker named TDC chair

The Lee County Commission has appointed Commissioner Larry Kiker as chairman of the Tourist Development Council.

Kiker served on the Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency and was elected to the Fort Myers Beach Town Council in March 2007. He became vice mayor in 2007 and was mayor from 2008 until October.

Bank promotes Klimek to senior VP

First National Bank of the Gulf Coast has promoted Kevin Klimek to senior vice president of residential lending.

Klimek, who works at the bank's headquarters in Naples, graduated from Florida State University and began his career in 1996 at Barnett Bank. He joined First National Bank in 2008 as director of residential lending.
