NAPLES — Collier County will be going for its fifth straight MY Shower Door Challenge Cup on Saturday. The event is two teams of club professionals from Lee and Collier counties facing off in a Ryder Cup-style format.
There will be 36 holes with alternate shot matches in the morning followed by best ball and concurrent singles matches in the afternoon at The Club at Renaissance in Fort Myers.
David Kent and Jay Westerlund of The Club at Renaissance are the Lee County co-captains. Scott Richardson of LaPlaya is the Collier County captain.

Cypress Woods reopens: After eight months of extensive renovations to its golf course, clubhouse and pro shop, Cypress Woods Golf & Country Club held its grand reopening party for members on Friday, and a golf outing on Saturday.
Gordon Lewis, the original course architect, did the redesign, which included renovating tee boxes, fairways and greens, and adding yardage. A grill room as added to the clubhouse, and the new pro shop is free-standing.
