A Cape Coral man tried to wiggle a bottle of crack cocaine out of his underpants while being taken to jail late Wednesday, Collier County sheriff's deputies say.
Around 10:45 p.m., deputies pulled over a white Nissan Maxima driven by Cedric Rashad Parker, 31, for rolling through a red light at the intersection of Green and Logan boulevards, according to an arrest report. Parker was found to have a suspended license, reports said.
After receiving permission, deputies searched Parker and found something that felt like a bottle near his groin area, according to reports. They began to handcuff him, but Parker ran away. A deputy grabbed him and was able to place him into handcuffs and into the back of a patrol vehicle.
While he was being driven to jail, Parker began to move around and pull his pants down in an attempt to remove the bottle, reports said. The deputies stopped the car, pulled his pants back up and continued to the jail.
Jail deputies who searched Parker found several pieces of crack inside the bottle in his underwear, according to reports. Parker faces charges of cocaine possession, resisting an officer without violence and driving while license suspended.
