Macy's cashiers accused of theft

Two employees of Macy's in Naples were jailed on Christmas Eve after they were accused by store security officers and police of working out a deal with one another and trying to leave the store with nearly $2,700 of merchandise they didn't pay for.

Bradley C. Cajuste, 18, and Zane A. Wilson, 19, of separate addresses in East Naples, each was arrested on a retail theft felony charge by Naples police. The men are accused of trying to steal the merchandise from the Coastland Center mall store, where they were sales associates, arrests reports say.

According to arrest reports:

Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, store security watched Wilson pick out 23 items from around the store. About two hours later, he took them to Cajuste's register, where he scanned the items and a bottle of water, then deleted the 23 items from the sale before bagging them and charging Wilson only for the water.

Around 4 p.m. Monday, store security watched Cajuste select 20 items from throughout the store and take them along with three bottles of water to Wilson's register, where Cajuste was only charged for the water while the other items were bagged.

Around 5:10 p.m., the men were stopped attempting to leave the store, where security officers found items valued at $2,694.94 in the bags, and police took them into custody.
