New foreclosure filings rose in Lee County in January.
The county had 653 new foreclosure filings last month, up from 554 a year ago and 340 a year ago, according to the Lee County Clerk's Office.
Of the total filings last month, 19 were for commercial properties.
There were 368 filings for residential properties with a homestead exemption, an exemption for primary homes.
Meanwhile, there were 532 foreclosure cases cleared by the court in January.
