An East Naples man is accused of attacking his wife and trying to suffocate her with a pillow.
James Clark, 31, of the 2000 block of Monroe Avenue, was arrested Thursday by Collier deputies at home.
According to an arrest report, when deputies arrived on scene they found Clark’s wife outside the residence crying. She told deputies that earlier that night she received a call from their alcoholic counselor advising her that they were worried about her husband.
Clark’s wife told deputies that she then located Clark at his mother’s house asleep and intoxicated.
She woke Clark up and he then attempted to leave his mother’s home on a moped, at which time she attempted to take his keys from him, according to reports.
Clark’s wife told deputies that Clark became angry with her and put her in a choke hold, causing her air supply to be cut off.
According to reports, Clark’s wife was able to free herself and fled back to her home where she began to packing her belongings.
Clark’s wife told deputies that her husband then entered through a window in their home and began pulling her hair, threw her on the bed and slapped her.
Clark then grabbed her around her neck as she tried to leave and threw her on to a couch where he then smothered her face into a pillow, according to reports.
Clark’s wife told deputies she was able to defend herself and call 911.
Clark faces two counts of domestic battery charges.
