A Ford pickup burst into flames this weekend in Naples Park, filling a street with thick, black smoke.
North Naples firefighters were called to the 700 block of 105th Avenue around 5 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a vehicle on fire, said North Naples Capt. Mark Bush.
“There was a lot of black smoke everywhere,” Bush said. “You couldn't see down the street.”
It took firefighters about 10 minutes to extinguish the flames. The fire appears to have started in the engine compartment, Bush said. The driver was not injured.
“He was actually pulling into his driveway, and it just kind of started on fire for no reason,” Bush said. “There was a lot of damage, so we couldn't really pinpoint what happened.”
