A traffic stop for illegal window tinting led to the arrest of a 21-year-old man after Collier County sheriff's deputies said they found about a half pound of pot, a large amount of cocaine and weapons in the man's car.

Robert Sanchez, of Wesley Chapel, was arrested Tuesday by Collier deputies near mile marker 104 on Interstate 75.

According to an arrest report, while deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Avenger with illegally tinted windows, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the car. Deputies said they asked the driver, Sanchez, to exit the car while they performed a search.

Inside Sanchez's car deputies located two large bags containing 208 grams of marijuana, five small bags containing a total of 60 grams of marijuana, and 22 plastic bags containing about 20 grams of cocaine, according to reports.

Also located inside the vehicle was a digital scale, empty plastic bags, rubber bands and a bottle of Inositol, which is used as a cutting agent for cocaine, deputies said. Deputies also discovered a green and black Hi-Point .45 caliber hand gun with a full box of ammunition and a set of brass knuckles, according to reports.

Sanchez faces felony charges of possession of marijuana more than 20 grams, possession of cocaine, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, and possession of marijuana with the intent to sell.
