Kiwanians expect 125 cars for annual car show

Another outstanding car show is being offered by the Kiwanis Club of Marco Island on Feb. 19.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marco Healthcare Center, at the corner of San Marco Road and Heathwood Drive, cars in 17 categories will be judged, with more than 125 cars expected.

Food and beverages will be on sale, prepared by the Kiwanis Club. The Italian American Club of Marco Island will be selling cakes, pastries and preparing Zeppoles (Italian style donuts). A 50/50 raffle also will take place.

The Irish Step Dancers will perform, as will the Charter Middle School Band. The Golden Gate Lacrosse Team will be assisting with the show.

As the Kiwanis Club has done for the past seven years there is no fee to enter your car in the show. If you are a car owner of an antique, hot rod or custom car, this is a great way to help raise money for various children’s programs Kiwanis supports. Bring your car to the show knowing you are helping kids.

As in past years there will be a $6 and under table for the ladies with an array of purses, costume jewelry and other items.

Steve Reynolds again will be guest MC, playing the “oldies” from the 50s and 60s.

There is a $5 spectator fee and children under 12 are free.
