The average retail price for gasoline in the Naples area was $3.72 per gallon on Sunday, up nearly 2 cents in the past week, according to GasBuddy.com, which tracks gas prices at over 140,000 stations in the United States and Canada.
Nationally, the average gas price increased 4.5 cents in the last week to $3.51 per gallon.
Gas prices over the weekend in the Naples area were 55.8 cents per gallon higher than at the same time last year, and 17.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago, according to GasBuddy. The national average has increased 35 cents in a year and 17.1 cents over the last month.
Of the more than 50 local stations tracked by GasBuddy, the Shell station at Tollgate Boulevard and Beck Boulevard had the highest price — $3.89 — for a gallon of regular gasoline. The lowest price was $3.65 per gallon at five stations.
