A Bonita Springs doctor who has a history of abusing his medical license has relinquished it.
Stephen J. Kaskie this month voluntarily relinquished his license to practice in medicine, states a final order with the Florida Board of Medicine. Kaskie must never again apply for a medical license as a doctor in the state, reads the Feb. 15 order.
He surrendered his license, state records say, to "avoid further administrative action."
Kaskie, 61, was arrested Feb. 9, accused of unlawfully dumping biohazardous waste at the Bonita Community Health Center in January.
In November 2010 he was accused of being involved in a doctor shopping scheme with a patient he allegedly knew was selling prescription drugs. He was fined and his license was suspended.
And, according to state records, Kaskie was involved in a sex for drugs scandal in 1989 with a young woman who was addicted to pain killers. Kaskie was fined $6,000 and his license was suspended for two years.
