Letter: GOP candidates, unlike Obama, are bad actors

Actors, and bad ones at that common sense is a key human attribute. Unfortunately, the Republican candidates competing for the presidential nomination are devoid of this key human attribute. Common sense allows us the ability to judge, realistically, how others perceive us. This creates credibility, a wonderful thing to have, especially if you are competing for the highest public office in the land.

The Republican candidates are all actors and, by the way, not very good ones. Each has chosen to play a role of his or her own invention. They are rubber beach sandals. They are re-treads. Some speak from the fringe, wherever the fringe happens to be today. Some are guilty of racism, homophobia and ethics violations. It is an insult to the informed, intelligent electorate that must exist within the GOP.

I like the common sense that President Barack Obama possesses. He has shown pragmatism that, I believe, has kept us on track towards the best United States of America. He certainly puts his country first before all else. I do not see that in these bad Republican actors who pretend to be qualified candidates.
