NAPLES — Naples' Ben Balter tied for 14th in the boys division of the tournament at the Junior Orange Bowl Invitational at The Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables last week.
Balter shot 75-72-65-74/286. Edward Figueroa of Naples, who has signed with Florida Gulf Coast University, tied for 23rd with scores of 70-72-69-79/290. Naples' Monja Maetzler tied for 24th in the girls division with scores of 80-76-81-79/316.
Doral Publix Junior: Naples' Josh Pisarri tied for 15th in the Boys 16-18 division at the prestigious tournament in Miami last month. Pisarri shot 74-76-74/224, seven strokes behind the top score.
Ben Balter and Jackson Stroup of Naples were in the consolation division. Stroup shot 77-81-74/232, and Balter shot 78-81-74/233.
Robby Stockard of Naples competed in the Boys 10-11 division, and shot 90-89/179.
First Tee of Naples/Collier: The organization will have a ceremony on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at PGA Tour Superstore west of Coastland Center mall on U.S. 41. A First Tee Wall recognizing the nine core value students and teams will be unveiled.

Grandezza event: The Estero course is putting on the largest tournament in its history on Sunday, benefiting the United Way. The event is sold out with 124 golfers. Registration is at noon, and there is a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
Gulf Coast Gold Senior Tour returns: The tour for golfers 50 and over, which is a subsidiary of the Tournament Players Association of Southwest Florida, returns Jan. 12.
Schedules will be posted weekly on tpagolf.com. The home course will be River Hall Country Club in Alva, which will host the Jan. 12 event. Tee times will begin each week in mid-morning. The entry deadline is Monday at 11 a.m.
The entry fees will be $20 per event, including the rate for golf at each club. A one-time $25 administrative fee is required prior to the first event played.
A quota-point modified Stableford scoring system will be used. An optional $10 skins game will be available. The top 25 percent in the field will win gift certificates at the host club with a 100 percent payout per event.
