A Marco Island man was arrested Monday, accused of going into a Naples Park gas station wearing a ski mask and pointing a small revolver at an employee Sunday.

Chad Holland, 33, of the 1000 block of North Collier Boulevard, was arrested by Collier County sheriff's deputies in the 800 block of 102nd Avenue North.

According to reports, Holland entered the store at U.S. 41 and 103rd Avenue wearing blue jeans, a dark shirt and a ski mask and then pointed the gun at the cashier demanding for money.

However, an employee working at the time of the robbery told deputies that he recognized Holland as a regular customer due to the fact that he was walking with a limp. He said that he then asked Holland “why are you doing this? You have a daughter.”

But while the suspect continued to demand money from the cashier, a customer walked in the store which caused Holland to be distracted and allowed the cashier to run out of the store to a neighboring restaurant where he then called 911, according to reports.

Deputies said that while the cashier was away calling for help, Holland was able to steal deposit money he found behind the counter.

The amount of money was redacted from arrest reports.

Holland was later located and arrested on charges of armed robbery and grand theft.

Another man, Paul Colliflower, 31 of the 200 block of Fifth Street North, Naples, was also arrested on suspicion of driving Holland around willingly after he had been informed of the crime that had been committed.

He faces a charge of accessory after the fact of life felony.
