NAPLES — A chemical spill following a two-vehicle crash closed a portion of Airport Pulling Road South Wednesday afternoon.
Fire officials said a truck carrying pool chemicals leaked chlorine and acid, which combined to form a hazardous mixture.
North Naples firefighters received the call around 2 p.m. and cleared the chemicals from the scene just south of Pelican Marsh Elementary School near Pelican Marsh Boulevard.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office and Collier County EMS also responded. The road was reopened by 3:30 p.m.
One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the fire department.
