Letter: Bank on it

I hope you will fight back against the onslaught of big bank over-regulation that is in progress in America — legally, if necessary.

Ben Bernanke at the Fed wants more regulation and doesn't really care what it does to the economy or the banks.

Paul Koenig at the FDIC (I hope he isn't confirmed) wants to split the big banks up to avoid the too-big-to-fail syndrome.

The leaderless crazies at the new consumer protection agency want to make it very difficult to make loans at a profit.

President Barack Obama would really prefer that the big banks go out of business so he can prove at election time that he bashed the banks and bankers who caused all this economic grief that America now faces.

Of course, the regulators can't put the big banks out of business legally, but they can over-regulate, force over-capitalization and even force a break-up unless all of you fight back and tell the regulators enough is enough.

We need a robust banking system to fill the financial needs of American consumers and corporations here in America and around the world. Please fight for balance and reason; the big banks have been bashed enough!
