An unreadable and dirty license tag led to a Labelle man's arrest for being in possession of marijuana, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
Crispin Tovar, 20, was arrested Thursday near Lake Trafford Road and Carson Drive. He faces a felony charge of marijuana possession more than 20 grams and a charge of driving with license suspended.
While on patrol, deputies observed Tovar driving on Lake Trafford Road with an extremely dirty tag and an improper tag light, according to an arrest report. Deputies said Tovar pulled into a handy store where deputies conducted a traffic stop for the tag on his car.
When deputies made contact with Tovar they said they could smell a strong odor or marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle, reports said.
Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered two sandwich bags full of marijuana located inside the glove box, reports said. The total packaged weight of the marijuana was 43.2 grams, according to reports.
