Letter: Denying the innocent

Bill Bond, Bonita Springs

Denying the innocent

In her Jan. 3 letter Diana Brewer fails to prove that state-supported pregnancy resource centers "do not counsel women on the option of abortion." She omits any policy, rules or quotes from women patients or center staff. So, as the lawyers say, "gratis assertur, gratis negatur" ("what is freely asserted may be freely denied").

In defense of the centers, how could it be within the province of a pregnancy resource center to include any procedure, such as abortion, which is so openly hostile to the center's underlying, fundamental concept of safe pregnancy and birth?

Finally, the basic policy of Planned Parenthood to advocate the option of women's choice for abortion in "crisis pregnancy" totally denies an innocent unborn child the God-given right to life.
