I've already posted on Barry Knister's Daily News blog thanking him for his careful and laudatory stylistic analysis of student writing from this year's crop of National Merit semifinalists.
I have the pleasure of teaching the first student whose writing Knister critiques, and I'm delighted to tell you that no one is being "taken for a ride," rhetorically or otherwise, by this young man. Nicky Locascio (Community School of Naples, class of 2012, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, class of 2016) is a member of my Advanced Placement English literature and composition class, and a scholar of the first degree. His love of learning is palpable, and the generosity with which he shares his insight is a gift to the class every day.
Thank you, Mr. Knister, for taking the time to celebrate Nicky's talent beyond the classroom walls.
