I enjoyed Jeff Lytle's column in the Jan. 8 Daily News on misspelled words from a sadly aspiring Lee County School Board candidate.
As a snowbird, I ordered the paper last week and opened my first paper that day.
On the first page of the Perspective section, a guest essay prompts us to help commemorate Naples history, reminding us that "the last half-century has seen tremendous growth in Collier County — from 2,883 people in 1930 (sic) to 321,520 in 2010."
The juxtaposition on successive pages of this typo (if indeed it was a typo) in an article about history no less and your missive about misspelling prompted a chuckle.
Irony is so sweet.
