SARASOTA — State troopers are saying a 22-year-old driver was drunk and fleeing another accident when he hit and killed a jogger over the weekend in Sarasota.
The Florida High Patrol said Blake C. Talman was driving a Nissan Altima and hit another car blocks away before fleeing and running over 53-year-old Donna Chen. Chen was jogging on the sidewalk in Siesta Key with her dog when she was hit by the car Saturday afternoon.
The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported Monday that Tillman rear-ended a pickup truck a half mile away before killing Chen, the FHP said. Her dog was hurt but survived.
Talman was treated at a hospital for serious injuries before being taken to jail. Charges include vehicular homicide and drunken driving.
