Deputies: Woman attacked ex with sandwich

An East Naples woman is accused of attacking her ex-boyfriend with a sandwich and then trying to choke him. Gabrielle Nichole Rebon, 23, of the 4600 block of Bayshore Drive, was arrested Wednesday by Collier County sheriff's deputies at her home.

Deputies responded to the home in reference to a domestic disturbance, according to an arrest report. When they arrived, Rebon's ex-boyfriend told them she began hitting him in the head after an argument. He said Rebon then pushed a sandwich into his face, and he responded by pushing the rest of it into her face.

Rebon grabbed him by the throat with her hands and began choking him, he said, but he escaped by shrugging his shoulders and thrusting away. The victim said he went down the stairs of their apartment to the parking lot, and Rebon followed him and continued to batter him. He ran toward the entrance to Bayshore Drive until Rebon stopped chasing him, reports said.

The victim told deputies he didn't fight back because he doesn't hit women.

Witnesses said they saw a woman striking the man and chasing him to Bayshore Drive.

Rebon, later located near the apartment pool, told deputies nothing happened after the argument, reports said. She denied following her boyfriend to the parking lot and chasing him. She was placed under arrest for battery and transported to jail.
