ESTERO — Sir Elton John is making another encore appearance in Southwest Florida.
After christening Germain Arena in 1999, when it was still Everblades Arena, and returning in November 2007, John is coming back this year with his “Greatest Hits Live” tour and a March 13 concert.
“It’s pretty exciting. He was our very first musical act,” said Craig Brush, general manager for Germain Arena.
Tickets are $49, $79 and $139 for the 8 p.m. show. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the Germain Arena box office and through Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com.
Before performing in Estero, John will appear March 9 at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, and March 10 at Amway Center in Orlando.
In 1999, tickets for John’s first trip to Southwest Florida sold out in less than 30 minutes. Many fans who had waited in line all night for a chance at one of the 7,000 tickets were turned away.
In 2007, area traffic was so bad that many fans missed the first 30 minutes of John's concert.
