A Gulf Coast Town Center pizzeria is claiming former employees stole more than $175, 000 over one year.
Deputies met with one of the owners of Aurelio's Pizza, 9909 Gulf Coast Main Street, on Thursday. He told them that from April 1, 2009 to August 1, 2010, ex-employees embezzled revenues through fraudulent point of sales and undocumented meal and bar receipts to the total of $175,000.
According to a Lee County sheriff's report, an insurance claim on the theft paid $121,000 to the owner.
The theft is still under investigation.
