Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the death of an Immokalee resident who tumbled out of a moving pickup in Hendry County early Thursday.
Around 2:15 a.m. 64-year-old Texas Bille of Clewiston was driving a Ford F-150 north on Immokalee Road approaching a curve in the road, according to a news release. At that point his passenger, Carmen Diego, 41, exited the moving pickup. It is unclear why, the FHP reported.
Diego landed on the road, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol is suspected to have played a factor in the death, the FHP reported.
