An East Naples man is accused of kicking and punching deputies after his 80-year-old mother called deputies, stating her son was extremely intoxicated and destructive.
Joel Kuhar, 47, of the 300 block of Hollywood Lane, was arrested Tuesday by Collier County sheriff's deputies at home.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found Kuhar's mother outside hiding in her backyard, an arrest report stated.
Once inside the home, deputies said they found lamps, glass and furniture broken and knocked over throughout the living are. Kuhar was found on the floor, wearing only his underwear that deputies said seemed to have been soiled, according to reports.
Deputies said when they tried to communicate with Kuhar, he couldn't talk and kept saying "no" when they asked him questions. When deputies asked Kuhar to put on his pants, he immediately got up and staggered to the front door in attempt to leave the home, according to reports.
Deputies said when they tried to stop Kuhar from leaving Kuhar began punching and kicking them.
Kuhar was struck in the leg and back with deputy's flashlight but still put up a fight, according to reports. In attempt to fully restrain Kuhar, deputies said they then released their Taser and used the Taser on him in the back, at which time he was placed in handcuffs.
Kuhar faces felony charges of battery on law enforcement and resisting arrest with violence.
