DUNEDIN — The Pasco County Sheriff's office says a 24-year-old man hit a deputy with his car after he was pulled over for erratic driving.

Authorities say Dana Charles Lauber almost hit a second deputy Tuesday before he crashed his car along U.S. 19 in Dunedin.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the deputy was not seriously injured.

According to reports, Lauber was pulled over about 1:15 a.m. While the deputy was attempting to remove the keys from the ignition, Lauber hit him with the car.

Lauber faces a number of charges, including attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, DUI and felony fleeing to elude.
