GOODLAND — Saturday in Goodland, the main event was the Mullet Festival at Stan’s. But for the chance to ingest a few carbs that didn’t involve beer, the best deal in town for breakfast was at the Goodland Civic Association on East Mango Avenue.
There, for only five dollars – three for the kids – you could get all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice, on a quiet back street away from the bustle of downtown Goodland.
Locals like Barry Gwinn and Amy Bozicnik, along with over 200 others, took advantage of the Civic Association’s Pancake Breakfast to start their day with a solid dietary foundation.
Those who missed the event can look forward to the weekend of March 3 and 4, when the group will do it again, said association president Joanie Fuller.
