A 78-year-old North Naples man is accused of threatening his caregiver with a shotgun.

Howard Marcotte, of the 8100 block of Wilshire Lakes Boulevard, was arrested Thursday by Collier deputies at home.

According to an arrest report, when deputies arrived on scene they spoke with the victim, who told them he takes care of Marcotte and lives in a room in the house, while getting paid a weekly salary for taking care of the property.

The victim told deputies that Marcotte came out of his room holding a shotgun and began yelling at him that he was going to kill him.

According to reports, the victim then fled to the garage to get away from Marcotte.

The victim also told deputies that this was not the first incident where Marcotte became violent.

Earlier in the week, Marcotte was yelling profanities about cops, attorneys, and president Obama, and stated he was going to shoot them all, the victim said.

At the time the victim then removed Marcotte’s ammunition he had in his bedroom and hid it elsewhere, according to reports.

Marcotte agreed to exit the home when deputies made a phone call to him, deputies said.

While being arrested, Marcotte punched one deputy in the face, but was then taken to the ground and handcuffed, according to reports.

Marcotte faces felony charges of aggravated assault and battery on law enforcement officer.
