Team scores a goal with keeping its coach

Good news this week from Germain Arena.

Greg Poss is signing on for another year as the coach of the Florida Everblades.

After leading the team this past spring to its first ever Kelly Cup, Poss has harbored dreams of moving up the ladder to the higher leagues. You can't blame him. All of his players harbor the same dream.

No offers came that he couldn't refuse, so Poss announced earlier this week that he would be back as coach when the Everblades open the 2012-2013 season.

Local hockey fans can look at this way: The National Hockey League and American Hockey League's loss is their gain.

That gain is another positive reflection on the team ownership.

Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush has long shown a commitment to Southwest Florida hockey fans by making sure year in and year out that there will be a quality product on the ice.

Securing Poss for another year continues that tradition.
