A 21-year-old Georgia man was arrested Monday after deputies said he set off false alarms, sending the fire department twice to an East Naples apartment.

When a deputy showed up to investigate the suspicious alarms at 4951 Pepper Circle, a man told the deputy that his boyfriend, Eric Austin Ellis, had pulled the fire alarms because he was intoxicated.

The deputy later approached Ellis, who gave a fake name and used an expletive toward the deputy. An arrest report also said the 21-year-old pulled away from the deputy as he was put in handcuffs.

Ellis, of Adairsville, Ga., faces charges of giving false information to an officer, resisting an officer without violence and discharging a false fire alarm. As of Tuesday, he remained held at the Naples Jail Center on bonds totaling $6,000.
